Never had a pension plan
all I can do is keep doing this as long as I can
but when the world turned upside down
we start to see who truly believes in the value of this sound
and the old arguments come back
like wouldn't you be better off going on a different track?
and is it worth having a degree
in something with such little viability?
But we don't live in an economy
We live in a society
And if all you make is money
Then you'll be fucking lonely
If you know the price of stocks
But not the price of freedom
Then you've probably lost sight of something everyone should believe in
and I'm not saying art's worth more
than the honest work of anyone who steps on a shope floor
but just because it looks like fun
doesn't mean it isn't work to stand up here and sing some songs
and can you imagine a whole world
with no music or dancing or stories to be heard
well, a bleak existence indeed<
when the only thing that we've got left is superficial greed

there's a place in this world for everyone to be
anybody can make art
just pick up a pen or brush or a guitar and start
and there's validity to all
you don't need to be a professional to feed somebodies soul
it doesn't mean it's not worthwhile
what is this world if we can't make each other smile?
