Sanctuary

 

The world outside is scary and we all need somewhere that we can go

I know when I close the door and you're all there I'll always feel at home

a life devoted to calling out injustice can be draining on the soul

but knowing that you've got my back gives me the strength to work towards the goal

Because I know that you need me in the literal sense

But you should know that doesn't go one way

Because wherever we are if we're together

it's a sanctuary

The world outside is unjust and I know that I'm fortunte to have

the life we've made together and that we work so hard to keep going to plan

We all have to leave sometime and step outside into the great unknown

But we do it so our world within these walls is safe for those who stay at home

Because you know I have to go outside to help our ends meet

But you should know, when I'm home I'm home to stay

Because wherever we are if we're together

it's a sanctuary

I know that there are more important fights that exist 

But right now in this moment there is nothing more important than this

Whether its being lock and key or way out in the sticks

It doesn't matter, because home is wherever my heart is

The world outside is massive and there will never be the time to see it all

But I'll never regret the time I spend with you within these four important walls

A life spent being happy has got to be the greatest gift of all

so believe me when i tell you i could never ask for a single thing more

Because I know people can spend their lives just searching

but for me, I know I've found my place

Because wherever we are if we're together

it's a sanctuary
