Pauper's Grave.

amazonitunes

Well my soul's been on show for quite some time but I don't think I know another way
So it's this or bottle it up all up inside to come out in unexpected ways
and I know that I've seen better days

And no-one will remember how good we were
And no-one will ever sing my name
Because when I die they'll put me in a cardboard box
And bury me in a pauper's grave

and I'm lucky that I've found what makes my day and fits me like an old and trusted glove
and it may not have the greatest pay but it's something I can't get enough of
it's a compulsion to do the thing you love

And no-one will remember how good we were
And no-one will ever sing my name
Because when I die they'll put me in a cardboard box
And bury me in a pauper's grave

money doesn't make the world go around
if it disappeared then we'd still be around
so I'll take all my pennies and throw them in the sea
and wish for a better life for you and me
yeah, I'll make a better life for you and me

And no-one will remember how good we were
And no-one will ever sing my name
Because when I die they'll put me in a cardboard box
And bury me in a pauper's grave
