Pitch.
I'm an independent singer-songwriter from Wolverhampton. Modelling my sound and my songs on the likes of Billy Bragg, Frank Turner, Cat Stevens and Paul Simon gives me a 'festivally' sound and the political nature of many of my songs usually means that I am well suited to this arena.
My commitment to both my political ethos and music festivals in general is highlighted by my election to the Musician's Union Midlands Regional Commmittee and my continuing work on my own annual festival, Codfest, which now attracts over 1000 people and is into its 15th year.
I also work as a sound engineer and have my own PA and lighting equipment, so if you need a small stage or open mic host, I can also do that!

Short Press Bio.
Given one word to describe his music, Sam Draisey will always choose 'honest'. Whether it's politics, family, solidarity or heartache, Sam's folk-punk style will leave you in no doubt as to where he stands on the subject. Influenced by the likes of Billy Bragg, Damien Rice and Cat Stevens, Sam has been plying his trade all over the country on the independent festival circuit and beyond. Audiences have been known to laugh, cry, sing and nod along (sometimes in time with the music, sometimes in agreement with the subject matter!).

Press Quotes.
'Hey, this is a real passionate guy, sometimes he shouts, sometimes he whispers but this is deep and absolutely mesmerising from start to finish.’ - Nick J. Townsend, Ryan's Gig Guide'
'Wolverhampton's Sam Draisey hides a deceptively powerful voice inside his slender frame. He sounds a tad like an angtsy James Blunt when aiming high and a young Brian Molko when sinking low. Quite a combination, eh? The soft anarchy that flows through some of his tracks is a joy to hear.' Leigh Sanders, The Express & Star
'Draisey sings with a real conviction, you feel his words come from the heart, from experience, at times from personal anger about politics, greed and the state of England. There are echoes of Frank Turner here, modern folk and protest.' - West Wulf
'A stunning performance.' - Andy O'Hare, BBC Introducing Hereford & Worcestershire.
'His performance style is both confident and captivating – his voice has the kind of warmth that I haven’t heard in a young performer for quite some time, but it’s also a powerful weapon and at times he really lets rip with the emotion.' - Paul Broome, The Midlands Rocks.
'Sam was a protest singer whose tone and delivery made you as an audience member really listen. His songs felt deeply personal yet universal, and his presence was confidently calm. He conducted the stage in a way that you instantly trusted him. He had wisdom. Juxtaposed to the rest of his set, angry and reflective in equal measures, was his final song. A tune written for his child about Play-Doh after peer pressure from his online audience during lockdown after one of his kids requested a Play-Doh song on his livestream. Amazing!' - Johnny Marriott, PET NEEDS.
